Jeff Chandler began his ballroom dance career at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1979. In 1981, he moved to San Francisco and worked with Arthur Murray Studios. After discovering the independent ballroom dance scene, Jeff left the chain studios and joined Diane Jarmolow at the San Francisco School of Ballroom Dancing.

In 1995, he brought together some of the Bay Area's top professional ballroom dancers and produced the Top Hat Club. The Top Hat Club was a 30's-style nightclub in downtown San Francisco complete with live floor shows, dinner, and dancing. Recently, Jeff produced a sold-out revival of the Top Hat Club at the Allegro Ballroom where he currently teaches. He also works with the Midweeklies in San Francisco teaching ballroom dancing to sixth and seventh graders.

For 30 years Jeff has trained with some of the world's top ballroom dancers and has been a dance competitor, choreographer, performer, and coach to hundreds of amateur and professional dancers. His unique teaching style and clarity make him one of the most sought after teachers in Northern California.
