As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to the preservation, teaching, and exhibition of ballroom dancing and other social dance art forms. With the efforts of many volunteers, we provide programs to benefit the local community and the dance community.

 

Some of our efforts include:

• Free group classes for children ages 10 to 18, and their parents, if they wish to participate.
   
• An award-winning youth dancesport team made up of selected youth who demonstrate talent and dedication. The team performs free of charge at civic functions and in competitions. Training expenses, competition entry fees, and costume expenses are paid by Allegro.
   
• Scholarships for outstanding students to advance their training and promote youth talent.
   
• Free admission for seniors and residents of Emeryville at our weekly Tea Dance on Monday afternoons. 
   
• Fundraising events for special causes, as well as our annual Charity Fundraiser Show and Dance. Since its inception, Allegro Ballroom has raised more than $300,000 for charitable causes.
