Allegro Ballroom is very proud of its outstanding professional faculty. Each instructor is a skilled dancer and respected teacher within the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.  Most instructors teach weekly group classes or periodic group workshops. All are available for private lessons on our ballroom floors.

 

The "areas of specialization" on this page (beneath each instructor's name) reflect recent group class leadership experience and/or the primary focus for the instructor's private lessons.  However, all of our instructors are well-qualified in the fundamentals of dance movement that apply to all of the dances.  And many of our instructors are "generalists" who can capably teach a very broad range of dances.

 

The ballroom dances fall into two styles: American and International. For ease of reference, the dances belonging to each style are listed below.

 

 

    Smooth – Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz

 

    Rhythm – Cha Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero, Mambo

 

 

    Standard – Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep

 

    Latin – Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive
